The Jack Pine Conference has a long standing tradition of promoting excellence in academics, sportsmanship and athletics and we are excited to expand and extend that tradition with the addition of four new member schools: Bullock Creek, Ogemaw Heights, St. Louis and Standish-Sterling High Schools. These four schools will be joining the JPC starting in the 2024-25 school year and will undoubtedly help elevate the Jack Pine Conference to new heights. This addition will not only enhance the conference's overall strength but will also foster an environment of healthy competition, collaboration and camaraderie among our schools and communities. "We are delighted to welcome Bullock Creek, Ogemaw Heights, St. Louis and Standish-Sterling to the Jack Pine Conference. Their dedication to academics, athletics and sportsmanship aligns well with our core values and we are confident that their participation will further enrich the conference and benefit all member schools." Jack Kramer, JPC Commissioner. Starting in the 2024-25 school year the JPC will become a two divisions one champion conference. With this move the JPC hopes to create a more competitive schedule for all member schools throughout their seasons while still having one conference champion, in each sport, to keep the long standing connections within the conference strong. Specific names for the two divisions are yet to be determined as we hope to gather input form our new member schools. Jack Pine Conference 2024-25 Bullock Creek, Clare, Gladwin, Ogemaw Heights, Shepherd and Standish Sterling. Beaverton, Farwell, Harrison, Meridian, Pinconning and St. Louis.

Our Jaime Performing Arts Center is getting a makeover this summer! While our new flooring still has to sit and process, we wanted to show you before, during and after of this fun project! We cannot wait for you to see this in person, but make sure if you are visiting the school in person for any reason this summer, you do NOT step foot on the flooring, as it is still setting and processing. Thank you!

Starting on June 5, 2023, loggers will be present in all three forest owned by the Farwell Area Schools. This Includes the 17 acre parcel across from the Middle School on Ohio Street, the 39.5 acre parcel on Washington Road and the 40 acre parcel on Clarabella/County Line road. The Farwell Area Schools are a recognized member of the sustainable tree farmers organization. The loggers will be thinning identified timber from all three parcels. The Farwell Area Schools have been working with James Gray of Natural Capital Forestry since 2018. Along with the students of our forestry program. We have identified trees, we plan to save. The goal of thinning, not clear cutting, is to remove the mature trees while promoting improved growth of the remaining trees. The Farwell Area Schools have secured a grant through the DNR to plant White Oaks in many areas of our forestry. We also plan to plant some Sugar Maples along Ohio Street. These new hardwood trees will improve the quality of our forestry, while providing improved habitat for animals and raptors. As with any logging operation, it will come with noise and traffic. A forest always looks a little rough after logging, but we are confident that the improvement will be well worth our efforts in time. The Farwell Area Schools will continue to work toward developing and improving these areas. Goals include a disc golf course, nature trails, and an outdoor learning space. Thank you and Go Eagles!
