FMS Visited CMU to learn how the fur trade was Michigan's first major industry; Hands on interaction with some of the objects that would have been used and traded made learning fun and joyful! Students also were able to play an interactive fur trade simulation game!
Lumbering was also a focus this day! The displays gave students a chance to understand the process of lumbering in Michigan and its historical significance. Students interacted with objects from the industry to help them learn what life was like in a lumber camp. Hands on creation of unique log stamps also provided a unique learning experience.
